DC Embassy Events

DC Embassy Events was founded in 2012 to provide a comprehensive source to the Washington, DC community for the promotion of embassy related cultural and political outreach events throughout the city.

We work closely with embassy staff and international organizations on social media and promotional strategy.

Our founder and volunteer staff are all communications professionals who have worked in the Washington, DC embassy and cultural community and bring a wealth of experience to our work.  We are dedicated to furthering cultural exchange and dialogue in  a variety of settings.

Our founder, Christopher Teed, was born and raised in Washington, DC and has worked in cultural communications and volunteer coordination with a diverse group of organizations including the Smithsonian Institution, Filmfest DC, Young Professionals In Foreign Policy, The EU Delegation, and a variety of individual foreign embassies and non-profits.

DC Embassy Events was created after a visit to the Embassy of Peru before a planned vacation by our founder to the country.  The visit happened to coincide with National Pisco Sour Day, and while the event featured an amazing selection of food and the featured cocktail, the event was poorly attended.  Surprised, the founder spoke to friends about the experience and learned how difficult it was to find out about (such great) embassy events.  With roughly 175 resident embassies in Washington, DC the task of following each one individually is daunting.  DC Embassy Events was created to provide all this information in one concise location.

DC Embassy Events operates as a 501c3 non-profit.
