This Thursday, Nov. 5 at 7pm there will be a special pre-premiere screening of Karski & The Lords of Humanity at Georgetown University.
This film is a feature-length partially animated documentary which tells the story of Jan Karski, a member of the Polish underground who acted as a courier during World War II and whose most prominent mission was to inform the Allied powers of Nazi crimes against the Jews of Europe in an effort to prevent the Holocaust. In 2012 Jan Karski was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama.
The special screening will include speaker remarks by the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to the United States Ryszard Schnepf, former Ambassador of the United States to Poland Stephen Mull, Rev. Dennis McManus, Director of the Jan Karski Institute for Holocaust Education and Dr. Robert Lieber, Professor, Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service.
The film screening will be followed by a reception at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland open to screening attendees.
