You are invited to the Gala Theater's 4th Annual Film Festival as the Mexican Cultural Institute proudly presents the film En la Estancia (The Land of Silence), Winner of the Best Director Award at the 2015 San Diego Latino Film Festival.

A gripping drama, En la Estancia (The Land of Silence) tells the story of documentary filmmaker Sebastian, who travels to the dusty village of La Estancia, to discover two sole inhabitants: the aged Don Jesús Vallejo and his son Juan Diego. 

There will be a reception and discussion with actor Gilberto Barraza following the screening.

When he learns that millionaire Vitto Romano has died after learning of his wife's infidelity, Karin befriends the widow and inadvertently gets tangled in a web of passion, intrigue, and ambition. The film was a hit at the Museum of Modern Art's recent "Mexico at Midnight" series.
