Join us for the opening of A Touching Note from the Past, a new group exhibition that journeys into Korean collective sentiment through the innovative fiber and textile artwork of Fiber 4 Now members Hwayoung Kang, Eunsil Song, Seungah Oh, and Siwon Lee.
Special Artist Workshop:
Join a workshop with the artists and create your own natural-dyed fabric craft at the opening! First come, first served, so arrive by 6:30 pm!
A total of 32 works by the four artists, each employing her own medium and style, seek to capture the unique sense of bittersweet emotion that permeates Korean culture, and the natural color palette of Korea's iconic art and landscape. Blending traditional techniques and modern aesthetics, the artists of Fiber 4 Now work collaboratively with fabric, natural fiber, dyes, and synthetic materials to create a uniquely textured and hand-crafted conversation on the broader theme of personal communication. This exhibition also introduces the beauty of Korean textile art, its traditional heritage, and its innate potential as a contemporary art form with broad applications.
