MUSIC: Small Feet in Concert

  • House of Sweden 2900 K Street Northwest Washington, DC, 20007 United States (map)

Swedish folk pop trio Small Feet will take the stage in House of Sweden as part of their US tour. Songwriter Simon Stålhamre, who leads the band, has been making music since he was 15, but is only now releasing his first record.

The trio's debut album "From Far Enough Away Everything Sounds Like the Ocean" was released in August via Barsuk. An album that has received massive critical praise and was streamed in its entirety by The New York Times Press Play the week before release. The trio recently also appeared on NPR's World Cafe.

“Both mighty and fragile … an arresting fusion of widescreen Americana and heart-tugging Nordic melancholy… excellent. (8/10)” - Uncut

“Quality Swedish folk pop trio led by Simon Stalhamre whose cracked tenor is a vessel for unsettling emotional truths.” (4 stars) – MOJO

“The debut album from Swedish folk rockers Small Feet, whose guitar-driven refrains call to mind Band of Horses and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.” – The New York Times

“Band to watch: Stockholm's Small Feet. Crazy beautiful stuff.” – Russ Borris (WFUV)
