Tonight, at the invitation of His Excellency, the Ambassador from the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, step onto foreign soil (actually international soil of many different nations), as we join diplomats from all over the Americas, and embrace the Caribbean in multiple styles with multiple flavors for a very special Caribbean Celebration at the Organization of the American States!

From the Island/Reggae/Calypso sounds of places such as the Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago,  Barbados, and Jamaica to the sizzling Latin styles of the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and even Cuba, Things To Do offers you a chance to embrace multiple cultures of the Caribbean through music, dance, food, drink, costumes, shows, and much more!

In fact, as we are moving closer towards normalizing relations with Cuba, a special invitation is being sent to diplomats at the Cuban Interest Section.  As a result, we are hosting a Cuban style Salsa band with lessons and will have some Cuban style dishes among our menu (TBA)

As you step into this magnificent venue into the grand ballroom of the OAS (usually restricted to diplomats and high ranking government figures) we'll be swept away like royalty into a majestic setting while embracing the multiple countries of the Caribbean. In a special cultural evening, we will recreate a visit to this Cultural Jewel of elegance, charm, music, dance great food, laughter, diplomats, new friends and more!

Proceeds from each ticket will benefit The Bahamas Crisis Centre.

Playing multi Caribbean style music, they will take us on a fantastic musical journey as we dance to their special Island music, participate in a limbo contest, and recreate an island atmosphere! A favorite among the Ambassadors and Caribbean Embassies throughout the area, tonight they put on a show you will never forget!

Featuring what we hope will be the largest Limbo Contest in the OAS' and Washington's History.

As relations with Cuba become stronger, it might not be long until many of us start vacationing there.  So, we need to prepare!   Tonight, we will host a live band playing Salsa - with a special Caribbean and Cuban Touch!

Before we begin with the Salsa dancing, local dance experts will be on hand to give a basic or refresher course in exciting Latin dance moves! Impress your friends and family (and other new friends you make tonight) as you practice and challenge your new moves to the music of the hottest Salsa band in the city. In addition, our Salsa masters will put on a special expert dance presentation to embrace the Salsa of the Caribbean Countries!

Various Ambassadors and other high ranking diplomats of Caribbean countries will be invited and are expected to attend. Talk with many representatives of the Caribbean countries and learn about their culture, their economy, history, travel opportunities and you can further develop closer friendships and opportunities with them.
