Be sure to witness Postcards from the Americas, the Mexico City Woodwind Quintet's performance at the Mexican Cultural Institute. Regarded as one of the foremost chamber music groups in Mexico today, the Quintet is formed of members of the National Symphony Orchestra, the Mexico City Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Mexico State Symphony Orchestra.
The international backgrounds of the group lend a unique sound to their performance of contemporary compositions. They will be performing works from the Mexican, Argentinean, Brazilian, Costa Rican, and Uruguayan composers Toussaint, Ibarra, Piazzolla, Nobre, Cardona, and del Aguila.
