FAMILY FUN: Nordic Winter Wonderland

Embark on a family friendly art adventure to celebrate the delights of the Nordic Winter! Stay warm and join the Nordic Embassies in Washington, DC and Phillips Collection for a day of family fun inside the museum’s galleries. Enjoy traditional art and crafts projects, stories, films and performances from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. Recommended for ages 4 and up.
From Sweden - FAUNA AND ME - a unique music, theatre and dance performance about animals and us by Minna Krook Dans. This imaginative performance explores how we interact with the animals that surround us through inventive choreography and clever costumes. Children will be delighted by this show and leave the event viewing animals in a new light. Duration: 40 min.
About Minna Krook Dans
Minna Krook Dans is a dance company that caters to both children and grown-ups based in Stockholm, Sweden. Minna Krook works as a choreographer, dancer, and teacher. She is one of the most established choreographers of dance performances for children. Minna received her education at The University College of Dance in Stockholm, and has since then worked as a dancer in several Swedish dance companies. For the past ten years she has choreographed her own pieces, many of which have subsequently been presented on stage in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Helsinki, and Copenhagen. She has also worked on choreographies for opera and theatre and made two dance films.
Minna Krook’s children’s productions include Oh, Hello Baby, All Gone!, Fauna and me, and I Want to Be a Grandmother which has been performed 100 times throughout Sweden, and Things Don’t Always Turn Out the Way You Expect, which has been performed 175 times to date. www.minnakrook.se
