“Folklore meets jazz” brings a unique project of connecting two different cultures and jazz interpretation approaches – Slovak and American. This exceptional project connects two of the best jazz musicians from Slovakia and the U.S.A., while each of them adds this joint performance with a significant portion of its own culture and prepares an unforgettable connection of real emotions for the audience in the interpretation of Slovak folklore tunes beautifully re-arranged to jazz. The audience will hear songs from Hanka G’s latest record “Essence” that pays tribute to Slovak folklore and has been produced by virtuoso Slovak pianist Ondrej Krajnak and some selected songs from her upcoming new record dedicated to jazz pianists. Hanka is one of the best Slovak jazz singers who recently signed artist representation with U.S. agency and will be accompanied at this concert by one of the best jazz musicians in U.S., Anthony Wonsey on piano, Kris Funn on double bass.
