  • Mexican Cultural Institute 2829 16th Street Northwest Washington, DC, 20009 United States (map)

Friday May 13, 6:45pm at the Mexican Cultural Institute

Don't miss a night of film, music, and lecture as PostClassical Ensemble (PCE) launches their musically remastered DVD of the classic Mexican film Redes, an iconic product of the Mexican Revolution with a galvanizing score by Silvestre Revueltas.

The evening's program will begin with a performance by PCE and Angel Gil-Ordóñez and will continue with an exploration of the impact of the new print and soundtrack with reference to three key sequences from the film. Finally, Roberto Kolb (Mexico's leading Revueltas authority), Lorenzo Candelaria, and Paul Strand scholar Terri Weissman will explore Revueltas and Redes in the context of the Mexican Revolution, Revueltas in America, and cinematography as art.
