The European Union has been and keeps consulting extensively stakeholders across the world; agreed on new telecommunication legislations to protect the Open Internet and abolish roaming charges; proposed modern digital contract rules to simplify and promote access to digital content and online sales across the EU; finalized the negotiations on the General Data Protection Regulation; launched coordinated and ambitious initiatives to digitize European industry; promoted cloud-based services and world-class data infrastructure to ensure science, business and public services reap benefits of big data revolution; strengthened our e-Government Action Plan to modernise digital public services and make the EU a better place to live, work and invest; and we will soon make public our approach to online content and platforms.
One year after the launch of the Digital Single Market strategy, the EU Delegation to the U.S. is pleased to invite you to a public briefing over lunch and interactive discussion, as part of the “EU Rendez-vous” Series, on the state of play and next steps of the strategy.
