Mexican-American scholar David Carrasco on the Mapa de Cuauhtinchan Numero 2

  • Mexican Cultural Institute 2829 16th Street Northwest Washington, DC, 20009 United States

Thursday June 2, 6:45pm at the Mexican Cultural Institute

Join the Mexican Cultural Institute as it hosts scholar and Aguila Azteca recipient Davíd Carrasco for the Keynote speech of the The Omohundro Institute's Translation and Transmission in the Early Americas: Fourth Early Americanist 'Summit'.

Davíd Carrasco (Harvard University) will present his recent research on the "Mapa de Cuauhtinchan número 2." Although the map itself was produced in the post-conquest era, it provides a rich and beautifully worked pictographic account of Chichimeca migrations before the arrival of the Spaniards.
