Celebrating Cervantes: A Day of Scholarship and Celebration in Honor of Miguel de Cervantes
A presentation of Cuadernos Hispanoamericanos, readings from the works of Cervantes, and a concert to celebrate the great Spanish author.
Join Yale Professor of Hispanic and Comparative Literatures Roberto González Echevarría to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the death of one of the most important figures in Spanish literature. Professor Gonzalez-Echevarría will present, together with young Cervantes scholars Matthew Tanico and Katherine Brown, a collection of essays on Cervantes and his body of work featured in the April issue of Cuadernos Hispanoamericanos.
The day will also include a reading of extracts from the works of Cervantes and a performance by Spanish soprano Amaya Arberas and guitar player Paul Holmes Morton to honor the famed writer and his influence on Spanish culture.
