The joy and sorrow of Korea's first national ski jump team takes center stage in this thrilling sports classic based in part on a true story. In 1997, the county of Muju in South Korea bids to host the 2002 Winter Olympics. But the judges responsible for picking the host city wonder how Korea could host the games without a national ski jump team. Thus a ragtag team is quickly formed led by Heon-tae "Bob" (Ha Jung-woo), and they set out to prove their worth to the world in record time.
With the 2018 Winter Olympics set to start in PyeongChang, Korea this February, it's the perfect time to enjoy the thrill of director Kim Yong-hwa's 2009 megahit, Take Off. This rousing, heart-warming film also won a slew of awards to go along with the love of fans, including Best Director and Best Music at the Critics Choice Awards, Best Director and Best Visual Effects at the Daejong Film Awards, Best Director and Best Cinematography at the Blue Dragon Film Awards, and Best Movie at the BaekSang Arts Awards.
In Korean with English subtitles, 137 minutes.
