Three men come to Prague for construction work and decide to have a night on the town at the exclusive Diplomat Grill. Their first night is a disaster, so they enlist the help of a former dance master to teach them social graces to win a lovely lady.

After fine tuning their etiquette, they return to the luxurious restaurant. Upon their return, they are tempted by three women. They have no idea that these women come from a similar background and are looking to snatch a rich husband.

About the Director:
Zdeněk Podskalský sr. was born in 1923 in the mountainous region of Šumava. He wanted to become an actor but abandoned his dream because of stage fright. After completing his studies in Prague and Moscow, and before focusing on movies, he produced a number of television programs. When it comes to movies, Zdeněk Podskalský gained fame as an author of musical film. Music plays an important role in Světáci, perhaps his most suceessful motion picture.

About the series:
This marks the sixth year of the Film and Beer Series at Bistro Bohem. This year, the series focuses on Czech musicals and comedies of the twentieth century. All films will screen in Czech with English subtitles. Each screening includes one free beer as well as an introduction by a representative from the Czech Embassy. All screenings are subject to change.
