Short Films from New Generations of Mexican Filmmakers

  • Mexican Cultural Institute 2829 16th Street Northwest Washington, DC, 20009 United States (map)

Discover the diversity, talent and creativity of a new generation of Mexican filmmakers as the Mexican Cultural Institute, in collaboration with AACIA, presents a collection of short films as part of the 2017 Ibero-American Film Showcase.

The films, from all over Mexico, come from an up and coming group of filmmakers, who tell stories with personal poetry and take us on a journey through a new, inconsistent and instinctive universe.

The eleven films and their creators are: Bingo - Andrés Borda, El Necio - Carlos Quiroz, La Carta - Ángeles Cruz, Ramona - Giovanna Zacarías, La Despedida - Yanet Pantoja,Carnitas - Bárbara Balsategui, El Don de los Espejos - Marta Soler, El Maestro y la Flor - Daniel Irabién, La Última Cena - Vanessa Quintanilla, El Modelo de Pickman - Pablo Ángeles, and La Vida es un Rocanrol - Inés Morales. All films have English subtitles.
