Architecture Month Opening Party

Join AIA|DC and SPAIN Arts & Culture for the opening night of the inaugural Architecture Month! Attendees will be treated to Spanish tapas and refreshments, and get an exclusive first look at two new exhibitions: EXPORT, Spanish Architecture Abroad, and ALTERNATIVES: The Thirteenth Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism.

About the exhibitions:
EXPORT, Spanish Architecture Abroad
Curated by Madrid-based architect Edgar Gonzalez, EXPORT is a visual narrative of Spanish architects working beyond their borders over the past 15 years. Divided into two components, the exhibition discusses both traditional practice and emerging areas in architecture.

ALTERNATIVAS/ALTERNATIVES: The Thirteenth Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism (XIII BEAU)
The exhibit features 22 jury selected projects completed between January 1, 2013 through December 31, 2015 by contemporary Spanish architects. The installation, which also includes an additional 20 shortlisted works, features large-scale image displays and audiovisual commentary about the winning projects, as well as drawing reproductions and architectural models. Export, Spanish Architecture Abroad is one of the shortlisted projects featured in the exhibit.
