FILM EXHIBIT: Celebrating Portuguese Language Day May 15, 16 and 17

The Embassy of Brazil will be screening films from Brazil, Cabo Verde and Portugal, on May 15, 16 and 17, to celebrate the 2018 Portuguese Language Day.

THE WELL BELOVED ONE – Brazil ("O Bem Amado")
Elected mayor of the small city of Sucupira, after an unfortunate situation, Odorico plans to open the city cemitery to end his term on good terms with people from the town. The only problem is that nobody passes away and Odorico is determined to find a corpse to inaugurate the cemetery.

NAPUMOCENO'S WILL - Cabo Verde ("O Testamento do Senhor Napumoceno")
Napumoceno, the most successful businessman in the Cabo Verde archipelago, is an ambitious, clever opportunist, known during his time as a “single for eternity". However, he is then discovered by his illegitimate daughter.

A TALKING PICTURE – Portugal ("Um Filme Falado")
Lisbon, Marseilles, Naples, Athens, Istanbul, Cairo, Aden, and Bombay. The movie takes us on a journey with a university teacher and her little daughter experiencing different cultures and civilizations.
