Come to the JICC for a special after-hours preview of our new exhibition, A New League: Shared Pastimes and the Story of U.S.-Japan Baseball. The exhibition features baseball related historical objects and artifacts from Japan, and traces the history of the sport in Japan, from its introduction and rapid transformation into Japan’s national sport, as well as explore the fascinating history of sports exchange and “baseball diplomacy” between Japan and the U.S. – avenues of contact that have fostered friendship, goodwill, and reconciliation between the two nations.
For this special after-hours preview, exhibition curators and co-presenters, Japanese baseball specialist, Adam Berenbak, and Gordon W. Prange Collection curator, Yukako Tatsumi, along with representatives from the Embassy of Japan, will be on hand to answer questions and provide explanations about the exhibition.
The after-hours viewing will be open from 5:00 PM until 7:30 PM on June 13. The exhibition will remain on display during regular JICC hours (Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM) until August 10. The exhibition is free and open to the public. The JICC will be closed on July 4 in observance of holidays.
