  • Embassy of Peru in the USA 1700 Massachusetts Avenue Northwest Washington, DC, 20036 United States (map)

Organized by the Embassy of Peru in the United States, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru, the Peruvian Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, and under the curatorship of art historian Gabriela Germana, the exhibition presents the proposals about and around the body developed by a group of Peruvian women artists who work in metal.

The show refers to the different paths that the exploration of the body has led to each of the artists, in relation to personal issues but also to the particular historical and social context in which they are inserted. Likewise, the exhibition proposes to contextu- alize the work of these artists within the general development of contemporary Peruvian sculpture since the 1960s and to high- light how their innovative proposals have contributed decisively to the development of contemporary art in Peru.

The opening ceremony will be attended by the curator, who will give a talk on the subject of the exhibition.
