Czech visual artist Roman Kameš will present the lecture and exhibit A Far Cry, paintings inspired by his time spent in the mountains of Ladakh – the Western Himalayas. The mountains, with the play of shadows on the faces of rocks, are like paintings themselves as the sun strikes them with ultraviolet rays bringing out surprising chromatic harmonies of emerald green, intense bright orange, golden yellow, and deep indigo.
