Bilingual Communications Officer/Receptionist (Arabic)
Sultan Qaboos Cultural Center
The Sultan Qaboos Cultural Center (SQCC) seeks a bilingual candidate to welcome visitors to our center in the heart of Washington, D.C. The position requires a dual role in promoting the center's activities via social media, handling the reception area, giving tours to guests, fulfilling administrative duties and serving as the first point of contact for visitors to the center. Applicants must have knowledge of the Middle East and, ideally, Oman in order to be considered for this position. Fluent Arabic and English (speaking and writing) are mandatory.
Track Oman-related media daily
Manage daily social media posts on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and website
Manage databases, mailing lists and quarterly newsletters
Design flyers and other materials
Provide Excellent Service by welcoming guests and visitors, and facilitating entry and sign-in in a professional and friendly manner
Educate visitors on Oman and the center’s activities
Answer questions and queries
Assist in maintaining professional, clean and organized reception and exhibition space
Answer incoming calls and direct accordingly
Receive incoming deliveries
Distribute mail, deliveries as needed
Provide administrative support to other departments as needed
Knowledge of Oman preferred; knowledge of Middle East required
Experience working in different cultures
Ability to interact professionally with guests and visitors
Exceptional organizational skills
Strong customer service skills
Excellent communication and writing skills
Graphic design skills is a plus
Excellent phone etiquette
Must hold a valid U.S. work permit
Fluency in Arabic and English required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university; Master's preferred
Applicants should have a minimum of 1-3 years' work experience
